WHO THE HECK IS QUINTON HECK?
Quinton Heck's journey began in 1999, born on Long Island, New York. At just one year old, his family relocated to Massillon, Ohio, where he would grow up in the very same house, establishing deep roots in the city that shaped his early life.
1999
Quinton was born in Long Island, NY on March 29th, 1999. Soon after his family relocated to Massillon, OH where Quinton would spend the rest of his adolescent life.
From the young age of six, Quinton's life revolved around athletics, a passion that consumed him through his young age all the way through the years at Canton Central Catholic High School. He was a multi-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and baseball, impressively earning two varsity letters in each sport. A pinnacle achievement came in 2016, when he played a key role in securing a state championship in football for the Central Catholic Crusaders. Yet, even amidst this football success, his true passion and primary talent at the time lay with baseball. He graduated in 2017, keenly poised for the next chapter of his life, ready to tackle challenges both academically and athletically on the baseball diamond.
2016
Quinton spent his entire childhood obsessed with sports. Which led to his successful high school career where he letter twice in football, basketball, and baseball.
Following high school, Quinton earned a $350,000 scholarship and continued his baseball career at the prestigious United States Merchant Marine Academy; one of the five official U.S. academies. With this came Quinton's promise to serve his country after his graduation. While the rigorous program typically lasts four years, Quinton's tenure extended to five. This additional year was a direct result of his burgeoning entrepreneurial passions, which slowly began to overshadow his academic focus, causing his grades to slip. As he recalls, "School started to get annoying for me, I wanted to make money, I wanted freedom," a clear sign of his evolving priorities. Despite these academic shifts, his main passion at the time was to play baseball. Quinton played all five years at the academy, contributing to his team's success, including a Skyline Conference championship in 2021 during his junior year. However, his aspirations for a professional baseball career were abruptly curtailed when he tore his UCL during his senior year. As he often states, "I was a pitcher, and an alright one. I had aspirations to play afterwards until I tore my UCL my senior year. That dream went out the window pretty quickly."
In 2016, his senior year, Quinton and the Central Catholic Crusaders would go on to compete for a state championship title where they won in the last minute in a half.
Quinton's main passion at the time was baseball, where he would go on to commit to the United States Merchant Marine Academy to not only continue his baseball career; but continue his academics and serve his country.
It was during his college years that Quinton's entrepreneurial spirit truly ignited. It all began with a "modest" venture of selling nicotine vaporizers, establishing "A1 Vapes" which, despite its humble $16 profit, saw him traveling from vape store to vape store in New York, attempting to sell wholesale. This early taste of business quickly evolved into dropshipping. After navigating the challenges of multiple failed stores, he eventually found a measure of success, making "alright money." In 2019, he launched his YouTube channel, though initially, it was a casual pursuit. "At the time I didn't take it serious. I just wanted to be like David Dobrik and post funny vlogs so that's what I did. At the time my main focus was baseball and dropshipping." he admits. With disagreement between Quinton and his partner towards the end of college, a "brick wall" brought down on his dropshipping motivation. That's when he found Fiverr. "What I liked about Fiverr was it was guaranteed money for my quality of work. Dropshipping was a lot of ups and downs, you could put in a lot of work only to fall short and be out $500, and then you could do that over and over again. With Fiverr I knew how much money I made for the amount of work I put in."
2017
Quinton attended USMMA from 2017 to 2022. This is where he began to learn his secret passion for entrepreneur ventures and the need to have freedom in his life.
Upon graduating from USMMA, Quinton was commissioned as an officer in the Navy and began his merchant mariner work. He spent six months as a waterfront engineer for Fincantieri Marine Group in Marinette WI, contributing to the design and build of Navy ships, including the LCS, MMSC, and FFGs. This was followed by a 30-day deep-sea assignment on an oil tanker, the M/V Garden State, employed through Crowley Shipping. Currently, he works for Hornbeck Offshore Services out of the Gulf, operating on supply boats for oil rigs and drill ships. Yet, the realization quickly set in that a life perpetually working for others was not his ultimate goal. "I know this sounds super cliché, but truly working for someone else and having someone else tell me what to do isn't my jam," he explains. "I also want to make as much money as I can and have it proportional to the amount of work I put in. At my sailing job with Hornbeck I will always be capped at a salary no matter my effort. A high salary, but still a salary."
2021
While Quinton explored his curiosity in business ventures, his main passion still continued to be baseball. He led his team to a conference championship in 2021 as a starting pitcher. Unfortunately, Quinton tore his UCL his senior year and put a abrupt atop to his baseball career. His plan for playing baseball after college was gone in the snap of a finger (or elbow).
This inherent drive for freedom has been a constant throughout Quinton's life, often leading him down unconventional paths. "I don't want to make it seem like I am always on the grind but I have gotten in trouble numerous times for having my mind elsewhere," he reveals. For example, he got in trouble in 8th grade for printing money, failed classes at USMMA and got set back due to late nights focusing on dropshipping and Facebook advertising, got yelled at in Steam Motors I class for reading an Airbnb book during lab, and recently got in trouble at work for managing his TURO car rental business, QUSE Cars, on the job. His entrepreneurial spirit has consistently pushed boundaries. While Fiverr provided a reliable side income stream for 4-5 years, extending from his college days into 2022 and 2023, it ultimately didn't satisfy his deeper ambition. "Like I said, Fiverr was good, but it didn't scratch that itch. I was still working for someone else really and giving a lot of my money to Fiverr. I was competing with 1,000 other people who could make logos and build websites." This yearning for true independence culminated on November 14th, 2022, a day he remembers vividly, when he invested $800 in podcast gear and committed to taking his YouTube channel seriously.
2022
Quinton graduated in 2022 and was sworn into the US Navy as an officer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. Quinton graduated with his family and his long term girlfriend Logan by his side. The two would then take there lives down to Charleston SC, where they would begin to dig their own roots.
2023
He began his Maritime career aboard the M/V Garden State and sailed as an engineering officer. Directly after he would be hired by Hornbeck Offshore Services to continue his marine engineering career.
Since then, he has been relentlessly building his online presence while continuing his work at Hornbeck to secure his finances. In 2024, he further diversified, launching QUSE Cars, a TURO business that has grown to four vehicles, with his experiences openly shared on his channel. Quinton spends his time at home in Charleston SC, with his soon-to-be wife, Logan. They enjoy traveling the world and building their business's together. Quinton and Logan first started dating in 8th grade in 2013; and she remembers fondly Quinton's scorning for printing money on the St. Mary's printer. They plan to get married June 12th, and they will celebrate their new deepened relationship in Italy; exploring the city of Rome and traveling down to Amalfi Coast where they will relax in a cliffside villa. Quinton continues to navigate a demanding schedule of 21 days on the ship and 21 days off, with Hornbeck Offshore Services, dedicating his free time to scaling his YouTube channel and QUSE Cars. His ultimate aspiration remains clear: to transition into full-time YouTube and Turo, and finally "acquire the freedom I have always been seeking since 8th grade."
2025
Quinton spends his time off the vessel at home with his Fiancé Logan. They spend their time together traveling the globe, building their individual business's, and growing together.
